Birth Injuries And Medical Malpractice: A Horrible Type Of Healthcare Mistake

Birth Injury

There are many different types of medical malpractice cases. There could be surgical malpractice, or anesthesia malpractice. Yesterday I wrote about hip replacement malpractice, and last week dental malpractice. There is also nursing malpractice, hospital malpractice, and physician assistant malpractice. In short, there are a lot of different types of medical malpractice cases.

One of the worst types of medical malpractice are birth injuries. These are because birth injuries caused by medical malpractice are injuries caused by a negligent healthcare provider who has injured an innocent life. A life that has not yet had a chance. A life that was at the mercy of a trained, skilled, and educated professional who has been given the task of protecting that life. A baby is precious, and negligent healthcare and tarnish that precious gem and miracle of life.

Negligent healthcare for the labor and delivery of a baby causing birth injuries can also cause injuries and damage to the mother. This is what really separates birth injuries from other types of medical malpractice as it can result in injuries to not one victim, but two victims. These injuries can even be life-threatening to both victims.

Birth injuries are also dangerous because they can cause a wide-variety of injuries. Brachial plexus injuries can cause debilitating and painful injuries. These injuries are damages to nerves which can cause minor pain and numbness, or result in debilitating injuries and loss of motor function or sensation. Another type of injury is cerebral palsy, caused by a deprivation of oxygen, which can affect a baby’s entire brain and body, cause serious learning disabilities, and cause debilitating seizures.
