$1.5 Million For Death Of 62 Year Old From Brain Abscess

Failure to Diagnose, Wrongful Death

62 year old male with unremitting, severe headache visited Emergency Room at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck where the radiologist performed the wrong imaging studies. Patient was told nothing was wrong and discharged home. Three weeks later, 62 year old male dies from a brain abscess that ruptured, causing a brain herniation. The neurologist diagnosed a stroke although there were no signs or symptoms of a stroke and no basis for that diagnosis on the CT scans of the brain.
