When I Am Referred To You By Another Lawyer, Do I Have To Pay More Than One Legal Fee At The End Of My Case?
Definitely not. The large majority of cases that I handle are referred by other lawyers, including personal injury law firms. The retainer agreement with our clients specifies the division of the legal fee between the law firms and that the referral arrangement will not increase the legal fee to our clients. The legal fee remains the same regardless of the referral of your case to us from another lawyer, even in cases where there are more than one referring attorney.
While the referring attorney remains equally responsible for the handling of your case under the terms of a referral agreement, most of your contact about your lawsuit will be with us. We handle the day-to-day aspects of your lawsuit, including the filing of the summons and complaint, the exchange of discovery demands and responses, depositions, and trial.
