How To Tell If Your Suicide Malpractice Case Has Merit

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in America and in some cases, it is preventable.  The critical question in suicide malpractice cases is whether the patient presented at imminent risk of suicide when treated at the hospital or doctor’s office.  The psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse must assess the patient’s risk of suicide and gather information from family members, police and/or treating clinicians to determine whether the patient is at imminent risk of suicide.
